Well Worth The Wait

Nearly every year for the past decade, we’ve checked in with the Old Crow Medicine Show team to see if we could get them to Alaska for Salmonfest. A testimony to persistence, the band is finally coming to headline and play the River Stage Saturday night 8/5 in the new ARCHES Amphitheater.

Almost everyone knows the song ‘Wagon Wheel’ which launched them to international stardom. What is largely unknown, however, is that they didn’t win a Grammy for that iconic tune but won two Grammys for other projects over the last ten years. Old Crow is far more than a one-trick pony as they’ve established a widespread reputation for their live shows at festivals all over the world. We’re excited to see them rock the house on Saturday night. “Rock Me, Mama, Like A Wagon Wheel!”

In the Presence of Greatness

Playing the Grand Ole Opry itself is quite an honor. Being inducted into The Grand Ole Opry is something else entirely and is considered one of country music’s crowning achievements. Only 16 acts including Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Luke Combs, and Rascal Flats, were inducted with Old Crow during the 2010s and OCMS was the sole inductee in 2013 and only the 201st induction in almost 100 years.

This band is special, a remarkable collection of talented individuals with a storied history and exceptional accolades, including two Grammys for their music. We know you’ll love their high energy, their eclectic show, their iconic songs, and of course their unforgettable and legendary name.

Please join us in a warm and hearty welcome for Crow Medicine Show as they make their Alaskan debut!
