It was a long weekend full of fish, love, fun, drink, art, food and music. Somehow the enthusiasm remained high even to the last Sunday evening performance on the Ocean Stage with Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.

Seemed like almost everyone who watched/heard the Burroughs was thoroughly impressed. We certainly were. We're thinking about making the rare exception and inviting them back for two years in a row. What do you think?!

Even though it isn't dark for a lot of hours during the festival, those times when it is provide some magical, memorable and musical moments. Definitely some of our favorites!

Thanks to Margaret Bauman and Fisherman's News for offering a glimpse into what Salmonfest is really about!

One of the big reasons we are able to coerce the national acts to Alaska/Salmonfest has to do with our widely renowned hospitality. When you spend your life on the road, the quality (or lack thereof) of the way you get treated backstage is a huge factor. Andrea Conklin Mollenauer (Santa Cruz Food Lounge), Stephany Buswell (finalist on Food Networks Holiday Baking Championship), Aleah True & Moria Bardsley come all the way from Santa Cruz Calif. each year and bring (with an assist from our volunteer Ak staff), world class cuisine and hospitality. These gals are some of the real rockstars in our opinion! Of course we love to bring in Alaskans but all the top chefs are busy in the summer!

Cousin Curtiss opening Ocean Stage on Sunday with Harrison B. Not sure we've ever had an opener that early that got that much energy pumping through the meadow. Hoping to see them at Alice's soon. Should we bring them back to the 2020 fest?
