It's been a few years since @cousincurtiss and his cohort, @harrisonbmusic , last graced our festival, yet the name of this dynamic duo has remained at the top of the collective wish list. These road warriors have been steadily touring across the country, earning an ever-rising stature, which made rebooking them quite the challenge but we finally made it happen!

If you've experienced their live performance, you know the fire they bring to the stage. Now consistently partnered together, Curtiss and the enigmatic, soulfully driven Harrison B, create a full-band sound all on their own. Imagine blues at bluegrass speeds and rock Americana with a soulful twist, rapid-fire acoustic guitar, incendiary harmonica and fiercely energized solos that merge into a wild, genre-blending celebration of music.

ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) has been a staple of the national festival circuit for most of the 21st century, earning widespread acclaim for their energizing performances and stage presence, rich vocal harmonies and stirring guitar solos. @alomusic

Led by guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz and keyboardist/vocalist Zach Gill, who also plays in Jack Johnson’s band, ALO blends improvisational jams with playful, comedic elements, effortlessly shifting styles to keep the dance floor moving. People came from 47 states and 17 countries to Salmonfest 2024 and from what we're hearing they had a very good time and loved Alaska. We are elated that we can now offer our fellow Alaskans a festival, a musical experience, and a venue that rivals or exceeds any comparable-sized event in the country. The mystique of the spectacular nature of Alaska and the festival's widespread and growing reputation has resulted in many of our festivarians coming from far and wide!

While we are sitting at roughly 90% tickets sold, we don't expect a pre festival sell out to be announced until mid next week at the earliest.

When the campground and amphitheater opened, we made a promise that we weren’t trying to get bigger, just better. We have kept that commitment and sold out advance tickets for the last three years. A fundamental value we hold to is that bigger is definitely NOT always better.

We will continue to work hard to make the festival vital, exciting, dynamic, comfortable, and all wrapped together with the best staff and stellar eclectic lineups. As always, we appreciate your support in creating this beautiful festival.

Sadly there are many third party duplicated tickets and fake tickets posted by scammers in the comments on our social media pages, so we are moving to a more secure system to buy and sell. Never send payment to anyone claiming they have Salmonfest ticket(s) on any social media platforms without contacting us first. The safest and most secure purchasing option for festival tickets is on salmonfestalaska.org.

If you are selling a ticket and have found a buyer please email us for directions on how to complete a ticket transfer securely.

We try our best to keep these scammers at bay but sometimes they work faster than we're able to catch, or outside the ability of any recourse on your or our end. We urge you to check on any second hand purchases as we encroach on the festival and the likelihood of another sell-out.

John Cottingham may not have achieved worldwide ac

John Cottingham may not have achieved worldwide acclaim but he is a legendary singer/songwriter and musician in Homer and the Southern Kenai Peninsula. Originally from Manchester England, his muse dragged him all over the world, from Amsterdam to Aspen, before depositing him, his guitar, and his love of Woody Guthrie on the shores of Kachemak Bay.

For over 30 years, John has graced the stages, bars, backrooms, and beaches of Homer and beyond with his dynamic presence and performance. From 3-Legged Mule to Yellow Cabin to Barroom Roses and many other configurations, Cottingham has exhibited a diversity of song and sound, a stamina that is nothing short of astounding, and a soulfulness that is impossible to miss. If there was a lifetime achievement award for the personification of a genuine local musician, John Cottingham gets that award.

John will be joined by Jim Maloney, a genuine Alaskan troubadour, a storyteller, and a multi-instrumentalist who writes and delivers songs that will make you cry, laugh, smile, and stomp your feet, sometimes all within the same tune.

Salmonfest loves showcasing a wide variety of art, from musical to performance, and even live painting!

We're excited to announce year two of our live art auction! Through the weekend, we'll have lovely live artists including Veronica Murphy and Adam Shea painting near our stages. At the end of the weekend, we'll be hosting a live art auction for the art created during the festival, and some awesome bonus pieces!

All of the proceeds from this auction go directly back to our Salmon Causeway non-profits, split between several very deserving causes. Proceeds last year were donated to Mother Kuskokwim Coalition, Native Movement, and Deenaalee Hodgdon's project.

Join us Sunday on the Ocean Stage to support our amazing live artists, non-profits, and maybe score some awesome new art!

When we opened the ARCHES campsites up a while back it sold out very quickly. We know that many of you were disappointed and so, we started working on some campground expansion. As a result, we were able to open up several dozen more spots!

Please note that this is car/tent camping and/or vehicles less than 22 ft. We remain aware that some of you are looking for RV sites and we are trying to figure out how to expand those possibilities as well.

In the meantime there are a lot of sites listed on our website at salmonfestalaska.org click on Event Details. Many of these locations are first come first serve and to most of them we provide an all day/night free shuttle.

Thanks for your patience and your participation. We hope you are as enthused as we are about getting ready to share another magical memorable weekend full of fish, love, music and so much more!

Guitarist Jim Lewin has been touring and recording for decades, embarking on deep excursions through the worlds of jam bands, country, Americana and bluegrass both as a bandleader and a member.

He spent years with rootsy renegade favorites such as Todd Snider, Lacy J Dalton, Frank Wakefield and Great American Taxi, and has occasionally appeared on stage with heroes like Bill Kreutzmann, Gillian Welch and Leftover Salmon.

Jim is one of the very few musicians who have played every festival going back to the first Salmonstock. A phenomenal guitarist and a wonderful human we welcome back Jim Lewin for 13th straight fest!

We are delighted to introduce Jasmine Netsena to Salmonfest for the first time. Jasmine Netsena is of the Dene and Tahltan Nations and learned to sing from her grandmothers in their Indigenous languages. Over the last 15 years, she has worked tirelessly on adding songwriting and guitar playing to that marvelous voice. Jasmine has charmed audiences in New York City, Nashville, and all across Canada. In 2018 she was awarded the Socan Indigenous Songwriter of the Year. She's also won the Best Folk/Acoustic in the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards.

Barry Sless was born in Baltimore and played with

Barry Sless was born in Baltimore and played with a number of bands and finally ended up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in 1994 became a founding member of the David Nelson Band. DNB caught the attention of Phil Lesh who included Barry and other DNB members on shows with him at The Warfield Theater in 1999.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000, Barry became a regular member in most of Lesh’s touring lineups from 2005 through 2008 and has guested with him numerous times since, having played well over a hundred shows with the various formations of the band. In 2007 he joined Roger McNamee’s new group, Moonalice. Over the last few years he has also toured with Bob Weir and The Wolf Brothers.

His cohort Stephen Inglis is a unique and mesmerizing talent. He's been described as a "Genre-bending, genre-blending chameleon, and the fluidity and ease with with he navigates such a spectrum of influences is truly exceptional."

Stephen specializes in the Hawaiian slack key guitar and is the 2021 recipient of the Ki Ho alu Legacy Award, Hawaii's highest musical honor. (a tribute to those who perpetuate the art of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar).

The pairing of these two phenomenal musicians will undoubtedly deliver a couple of enchanting performances, which we are ecstatic to welcome to Salmonfest! @barrysless

Mahalo Salmonfest Family! H3 has been a musical force in Alaska for most of the 21st century. For years we tried to coax them to Salmonfest and last year it finally came to fruition and now we're going to make it two in row! @h3reggae

The founding members are Hawaiian natives, naming their band for “harmony amongst 3." Their melodious 3 part harmonies is primarily composed of Island reggae but also integrates pop, rock and country.

The trademark consistency to their countless shows over the last two decades is the overwhelmingly positive response from audiences. Smiles, dancing and as one band member says, "The people always say, 'This is such happy music!" We're more than happy to bring H3 and their happy music back for Salmonfest 2024!

Salmonfest is excited to welcome Phyphr @phyphrmusic back to Alaska! Having performed at Sacred Acre @sacredacreak the last two years, as well as a small winter tour, he has become quite comfortable here in the Last Frontier. Phyphr is creating a buzz with his unique blend of electro-soul and funky electronic songwriting. Merging live guitar performances with electronic production, Phyphr brings a vibrant mix of instrumentation and original vocals to the forefront. His musical journey has led him to share stages with renowned acts such as The Floozies, Daily Bread, Manic Focus, SoDown, SunSquabi, and Maddy O’Neal.

Originally from the East Coast and now a Denver resident, Phyphr is adding his own twist to the Mile High City’s electronic sound. His dynamic performances have graced festivals including Summer Camp, Cascade Equinox, Hulaween, Gem & Jam, Dreamscape, and Sonic Bloom. Phyphr’s impact has been recognized by various publications, including 303 Magazine, River Beats Dance, Electric Hawk, This Song Is Sick, EDMTunes, and T.H.E Music Essentials.

"Bow Thayer has been kicking up a beautiful racket in Vermont for many years now." 25 years ago he made a life-altering decision to leave the city for the Green Mountains of Vermont where he's been "kicking up a beautful racket for many years now." It was there that he explored the Delta blues playing slide guitar and began a relationship with the banjo. Bow combined these instruments into the Bojotar, a hybrid he designed that incorporates elements of the banjo, resonator guitar,. As No Depression put it "You want inventiveness....I offer Bow Thayer."

Bow’s music is always evolving and unpredictable. After recording his classic Americana album, Spend it All, with Levon Helm on drums, Bow forged a daring music path that has explored folk, prog, blues, world music, improv and psychedelia on his journey to bring backwoods music into the present.

While out on the road, Bow had the joy of introducing his music and the Bojotar to fans and friends alike, including some of his peers and heroes - Bela Fleck, Richard Thompson, James McMurtry, John Hiatt, Booker T. and Warren Haynes. At home during the pandemic, Bow joined forces with Val McCallum, Jackson Browne's guitarist, to co-write a gorgeous and inspired set of songs under the moniker Beau Bow de Lune. A full-time artist, Bow has devoted his life to spreading his tales, truths, and fantasies about the human condition wherever he goes and invites you to catch an earful.

ARCHES camping went on sale late last week and we'

ARCHES camping went on sale late last week and we're aware that many of you are concerned that the campsites sold out so quickly. We'd like to take a moment to give a quick update.

While the campgrounds did sell out fast, we are working on opening up more land so we'll have some more sites to release at a later date once work is completed and we can assess the space. Contact info@salmonfestalaska.org if you want to be on that waiting list.

There are also quite a few campsites on the fairgrounds land across the highway that will be released soon. Initially, those will be offered to those that purchased them last year and then opened up to all ticket holders.

As many of you know there are many camping options around the festival and most of those are on a first come first serve basis. There is a large list on our website at salmonfestalaska.org along with the campgrounds to which we provide a free shuttle service.
On that note the shuttle service has been expanded to two high quality large buses from Alaska Bus Company @alaskabuscompany so your rides to and from your campsites should be better and more frequent.
